From February through May, Asian Media Access (AMA) hosted our online e-Magine Generative AI and Digital Marketing program. Over the course of the program, 60 hours of training and 18 hours of hands-on internship time were completed. Throughout this journey, our cohort mastered generative artificial intelligence (AI) training, WordPress website development, professional development, and the foundations of digital marketing with AI integration.
AI is rapidly reshaping how many individuals operate, and integrating it into personal and professional settings is a new challenge for individuals of different ages and experience levels. As many organizations and individuals begin to adapt to AI opportunities, Asian Media Access offers a comprehensive course on prompt engineering and on using AI as a tool rather than a replacement for human work. Participants learn to become comfortable with writing, image generation, audio creation, and general navigation across various free and premium platforms.
Alongside generation, graphic design is a critical component of the curriculum. Generated AI images can include flaws such as misspellings, distorted faces, extra limbs, or unnatural poses. Participants are taught to identify these flaws and correct them. Additionally, participants are required to learn to use their generated images to create posters, flyers, and infographics, which helps serve a more purposeful role for their images and strengthen their creativity. The participants are also taught to create consistent images. For example, infographics follow the same color scheme and design patterns.
Furthermore, AMA includes website development as a way for participants to showcase their work. WordPress Development is one of the most difficult topics to teach, but also one that builds the most technical skill set. Website creation involves teaching the fundamentals of WordPress, including themes, plugins, and template customization.
Lastly, digital marketing is an important component that helps participants learn to share their content and track their performance. Participants met with industry leaders in digital marketing to learn trends and best practices.
All the participants came from diverse backgrounds, and many had personal challenges that they were balancing throughout this program. Significant personal challenges included navigating addiction recovery, healing from head injuries, and managing single parenthood with multiple children. AMA understood the participants’ needs and strived to make the information manageable and easy to understand. Our resilient cohort showed up and thrived. Participants become experts in guiding AI, build their creativity, and improve their overall workflow.
AI is a tool to amplify human potential, not to replace it. Our curriculum empowers participants to use AI to help optimize while blending their skills and leaning on their unique lived experiences. Many of these participants were interested in gaining new skills to support their professional development. As individuals learn these new skills, many become increasingly interested in the job market related to AI, Digital Marketing, Graphic Design, and Website Creation. AMA supported these individuals by providing work-readiness workshops, such as resume writing and job search tips, and by connecting them with industry experts and job leads.
As a final project, each participant created a website that either provides resources and services or serves as a platform to share personal stories. One participant was a new resident of Minnesota and was getting to know the Northside Minneapolis neighborhood. She noticed that there were no food establishments, and the nearest food source was at least 5 miles away, despite the presence of multiple residents and local businesses nearby. She focused her project on bringing healthy, nutritious food options to the community that is specifically underserved by fresh options. Her project was dedicated to a purpose-driven space, showcasing how everyone deserves a nutrition that fuels the body, uplifts spirits, and supports overall wellness.

Upon e-Magine! Upon program completion, participants earned several valuable credentials, including badges from Crown College and Metropolitan State University. After the program training and internship, we are incredibly proud to share that this participant received a promotion at work. She now focuses on spearheading AI-driven fundraising efforts, creating graphic designs, and tracking social media analytics.
Another participant created a digital space dedicated to mental wellness, designed to immerse visitors in clarity, intention, and balance. The website features reflective tools that help users reconnect with a greater purpose. As the site beautifully notes:”Productivity and peace are not opposites. They are rhythms. And when they move together, something remarkable becomes possible — a life that feels as good as it looks from the outside. This is your sanctuary. A place to reflect, recover, and return to yourself — again and again, without judgment.”

We congratulate all of our newest graduates. Always remember that we guide AI; it does not guide us.
The e-Magine program is a testament to what happens when we invest in modern skills training through an accessible, supportive environment. AMA remains dedicated to fostering responsible AI use, reinforcing the idea that technology is at its best when it amplifies the inherent strengths we already possess.
